Historical interludes (Year in photos 2011)

January 16, 2011

So I went to see The King’s Speech over the weekend.  It was a remarkable film.  There was drama, realism, entertainment, suspense and comedy, all in a couple of hours.  A very enjoyable film & all the more interesting because it wasn’t just a story because it was based on fact.  Colin Firth gave an amazing portrayal of the King and he deserves the accolades being thrown in his direction.  If you’ve not been yet, go along.  If this film doesnt spark your curiosity into reading more about our more recent history in the UK, well then I’d be surprised.
