Year in Photos (8-Apr-11)

April 8, 2011

I love tulips.  They’re probably amongst my favourite flowers.  It’s just a shame that they don’t stay in flower for very long.  I love this photo of them, it means I can keep looking at tulips all year long! 😀

There’s much talk about the state of disrepair that our roads are in – and I wouldn’t want to contradict that at all. Today’s photo shows how nature is trying its best to disrupt some of our pavements as well.

I think there are likely to be a few photos like this over the next few months because I love taking photos of sunsets.  So here’s one to start the ball rolling.

Year in Photos (23-Mar-11)

March 23, 2011

I took 2 photos for my Year in Photos today and I can’t decide which one of them I should use.  So I’m going to post them both.

The first is a photo of some of those baby daffodils that you get, growing in the garden at my parents house.  The second was inspired by Chris Evans on the breakfast show this morning.  He told everyone to tweet about the blue sky, so I took my own blue sky picture.

Enjoy 🙂

I’m not usually a fan of daffodils cos they give me really bad hayfever, but this bunch in my local florists just needed a photo to be taken of them!

Year in Photos (14-March-11)

I didnt deliberately choose another flower photo today, but when I stumbled upon this crocus trying to make its way through the ground, I just had to take a photo of it.  I guess it reminds me of the struggle that we all have from time to time as we try to make our own mark on the world, to stand out from the crowd & to look different.  Perhaps this should be our example to stick with it.  The result is worth the effort.

Year in Photos (13-March-11)

Continuing yesterday’s floral theme, today’s photo is of some carnations that I was given recently.  They are another reminder of the wonder of creation & the beauty of nature all around us.

I love the way the edge of each flowers is a different colour & how each of the flowers is unique in its own way.
